I would only recommend this product for false ceiling. I didn't see an easy way to mount the piece to our ceiling and properly attach it to the rafters in the attic.

It was a waste of money. The kit is poorly designed and the instructions are incomplete and difficult to understand. When we finally got it, it looked cheap and ugly. We ended up just scraping it all off and getting our own Home Depot trim. I want to save $140.

I installed it in my false ceiling and all I can say is wow. The screen looks good and is very quiet. It's going down slowly, but that's ok. The picture looks great. Excellent purchase. I'm using a v max pro 106 screen. It's big. Remember you need a 12 inch drop. The screens only come with a 24-inch drop. This is because the screen is about 8 inches above the hole. Nice facility.

I purchased this product with the intention of installing it in my basement ceiling which is a 2x8. had no problems with this setting. Where I had issues was that they shipped the long staples as two separate pieces and they came with the hardware, but generally neither fit together and I had to drill holes to make them work. Also, the center is pretty flimsy, wish it had clamps in the center to support it. For the price of the screen and the price of the whole kit, it doesn't look bad.

Bought a fairing kit to install in our upcoming theater. First, the quality is not very good. They have a seam down the middle because you need to join both poles in place because it's made up of parts. Any movement and it frames the arches. Very bad design. Fits in many projectors. However, the flanges that should be at the hole have little space. It is almost impossible to install the false ceiling panels in place. We found out. I think they need to rethink the design and make it more robust. long pieces that you put together; one set docked normally, the other left a gap in the middle. There is nothing supporting the center of the shield. So if you tie the two ends together at an angle, the thing will bend. - Kind of stupid.

As with other reviews, the instructions are rubbish and don't provide enough sequence information to install this. I bought it for a high end screen and built it into a drywall ceiling. First, if you don't have access to this kit, it's not possible to mount the screen yourself from below (you'll have to carry it above the ceiling to mount it).
