The material doesn't soften enough even in almost boiling water. They are also almost independent of each other. I have purchased several different brands of "denture beads" and they worked as advertised and as instructed. But after 3 attempts and almost boiling water, they were barely soft and didn't want to stick to each other, which is necessary for the product to work. However, the color is spot on and looks far more natural than any other brand I've personally seen. Too bad it didn't work. To answer your questions: A) yes, I left the beads in hot water long enough and B) yes, the water temperature was definitely hot enough.
