Review on Quickun Cylinerr Diffuser Hydroponics Airstones by Vanessa Johnson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Heavy and stays where put

Excellent air stone for aquariums. Unlike other diffusers with plastic components, they are not buoyant and will sink to the bottom of the tank by themselves. No need to secure them in place or try to bury them so they don't show up. I buried them for the looks but I like the fact that they stay in place with no effort. Air performance is impressive. I put two of these in a 72 gallon tank and there seems to be more than enough air in there. Not exactly "crazy", but then again I work with a relatively small air pump. I only get bubbles from the top of the stone even though the whole sphere is porous. Maybe they would go crazy if I had a bigger pump and more bladders? The only negative thing I can say is that the air performance of the two stones I installed is not the same. One bubbles a lot, the other less. I soaked them overnight as recommended by other reviews, but the result was still inconsistent. It doesn't matter much and you can always use a flow control valve to try to balance them out. There were other reviews about the top compartment; I had no problems with it and don't expect it. They are solidly built. You can't beat the price and what you get compared to going to a big store and buying a plastic and resin bubbler. Definitely worth a try if you are looking for an air vent for a large aquarium.
