I will update this because at least part of the problem is related to Android and part is related to the product specification. Also, it's finally working, so I'm a little happier. This product did not work with Android Go. Android Go appears to be a problematic release that looks like it's part of the full set of Android releases, but it isn't. However, according to some, it is a stripped down version. I bought another Android device and it worked fine. The company shares some of the blame that the versions they maintain are not better identified and/or may be incorrect in older versions. release spectrum. I found an app that states exactly what version range and what app are supported. Accordingly, the younger part of the product didn't come out on the older device I had (4.x just forgot which one). This is contrary to the supplier's instructions. The minor to high end range includes the problematic version of Go. As far as I can tell from comments and experiences, Revain Go should definitely be avoided. -----ALT This thing's setup was confusing at best. The basic idea is that you send your home wifi password to the device so it can log into your wifi. Ok but not well explained. Trying to figure out which WiFi and password goes where. What you should do at each stage is not clear. My additional concern was that the router's client isolation had to be disabled in order for the two parts to be able to talk to each other. Eventually I got over it and it worked. I have multiple devices under control. So far, so good. This can be a useful device. However, I wanted it to work on a tablet and not a phone. None of the software options seem to work properly on tablets. The latest version doesn't even show up on the Play Store for the latest Android versions, although the software claims to work from version 4.0 onwards. Older versions show up as compatible, but they either fail immediately or fail to connect. The latter may be due to different device names between versions. Not clear. I've tried different versions of the software on old and new tablets with no success. Perhaps, in theory, the latest version should work on later versions of Android. The app appears to be fairly generic with the actual work being done by the device. The lack of compatibility with Android versions seems odd, especially considering their claims to work with anything above 4.0.
