I heard that my 7 year old grandniece got a ukulele for Christmas and was very excited at the prospect of learning to play a musical instrument. When I came to visit a few weeks later I was a little surprised when she showed it to me and said "but it's broken" and saw that the tuner screws had been stripped and turned the wrong way round. One of the screws that was still there I could see was too short and not designed to withstand the constant torque that would be applied to it when the strings were in tune. So I offered to take it home and fix it. I ordered them, used wood fillers to fill in the holes and when they arrived a few days later I reattached all the pins using them in place of the originals. She was delighted to see her ukulele again, repaired and like new. It's been 5 months and it's holding up well, all the screws are there and holding tight. So although I only needed 8 of these, they were cheap enough that I now have a few on hand if I ever need them again. Highly recommend if you need a ukulele repair for the young person in your life!
