My wife and I have road bikes with Presta valves and an air compressor without a Presta cartridge. I have a Presta hand pump but it doesn't have a pressure gauge so it's not perfect. With this kit you remove the cap and open the Presta valve and screw on the Schrader valve adapter. This keeps the air inside, but the bike can be refueled with most pumps or air compressors at gas stations, which is very convenient. Then you can either leave the adapter on forever and use the Shredder cap, or remove the adapter and use the Presta cap. The Presta caps are metal (very nice) and the Schrader caps are plastic. Spring. Pretty neat little kit with enough parts for two bikes and solves the question "how do I air these road bikes?"
