I bought this for my high school aged daughter to carry in her school backpack. Children are taught that if there is an active shooter they must barricade the door and hide, but there isn't always something they can use for that purpose. My daughter was worried so I got this. I was very pleased when I received it. This is hard work. The rubber is very stiff, yet flexible enough to be wedged deep under the door. Rubber also "sticks” well to the floor – opening the door is not easy with tight attachment. The curve on the back makes it very easy to land a few good punches to lock it in place. I know it sounds crazy to buy to protect against an active shooter. But it's something my daughter can take with me to school, and if it gives her some peace of mind, it's worth it. Note: I can't believe kids have to worry about this these days! How terrible.
