The previous nutcracker I bought broke after less than a dozen batches of macadamia nuts, so I was looking for durability and ease of use. The Nutcracker is great for macadamia nuts (a neighbor grows them so they have many uses) and will also appeal to those of us who love great, simple (elegant?) design and value. It looks like it's very well made. and easy to use for small batches of nuts. It's easy to make sure you're not applying too much pressure, which is important for macadamia nuts, which are easily damaged by some crackers.
