This is one of the best mini tripods but it's not perfect. First, the legs are a bit short, making it dangerously close to tipping over unless your center of gravity is very close to the center column. I wish they were an inch or two longer. Second, a nice smooth and calibrated ballhead base is useless as it is released by the same knob as the ball itself. Loosen the ball and what's the point in the palette? Your camera will flop. Build quality is good, all construction is metal but I would expect that at this price point.
