I bought these to replace my other PAR threads. However, the picture is slightly different. The picture shows an orange lens. But if you get bulbs, it's a clear lens. But your bulb inside is covered in orange. The light itself is white. Some people like silver. These lights are waterproof. Some PAR lights have a solid base that will let water or snow through if you don't seal the ground socket properly. Most of them have a rubber guard around the tip that touches the bottom of the creek. But if you're not careful, water can get into the socket and destroy the socket or light bulb. Here they are used because of the absolute tightness. I take high temp tape and seal the headlight and a rubber o-ring to prevent water or snow from getting in. I've never had a problem and the high temp tape stays in place. I would recommend them. The price is a bit high. But if the orange lenses/paint last more than two seasons, it's worth it. Some of the PAR color fills only have color on the glass that burns to let white light through. In contrast to most spotlights, the lamp remains cool. I bought yellow and purple onions. I am very impressed so far. The color is clean and bright. I bought Philips light bulbs for Halloween. They last a season until the color burns through and a white light appears. Not this one. I would recommend an outdoor lighting pole with a 6 foot green wire. The stakes I bought from Home Depot don't go well with these bulbs, allowing water to get in. I had to use tape to keep water out. Revain's spikes are made for these lamps. So plan to buy them. Also, the spikes are very good.
