If you are buying for Series X, please read

Fantastic gaming monitor that I bought specifically for the X series. Switching from a 4k/60 monitor I was happy to take advantage of the 120Hz refresh rate. In addition to the excellent image quality, the monitor is equipped with a sliding mechanism that allows you to raise and tilt the monitor. However, when you buy an X Series monitor, it doesn't immediately come optimized with the right firmware. When you first connect the monitor to your Series X it says it can only display 4k/60 or 1080/120 - no 1440/120Hz option. Ignore any YouTube quick fixes as none of them work for the Gigabyte G27q. The monitor requires a firmware update through the Gigabyte website. Lots of misinformation and ambiguous instructions so I will make very clear what you need to do to update your monitor to allow 1440/120.1. Go to the Gigabyte G27Q product page on their website and go to the support section. Download the OSD sidekick version B20.0724.1. This is an older version but I think it works better.2. Open the upd file and extract everything. Another file appears called "B20.0724.1(Aorus+Gigabyte)". Open this update and run 7z sfx. In the next few minutes, multiple applications will be downloaded and extracted simultaneously, just be patient while OSD Sidekick installs in the background3. To run OSD Sidekick.exe you need two things: an HDMI connection from your PC/Laptop to the monitor and a USB connection from your PC/Laptop (USB 3.0) to the monitor (SS USB). - Your monitor must come with a USB 3.0 SS USB cable. Otherwise a double USB Type-A 3.0 connector will work, but it must be 3.0.4. Install the F04 firmware and save the file in an accessible folder. In the OSD sidekick, go to "About", browse the firmware and select the newly installed F04.5 file. Once it's installed on your monitor, reboot your Xbox and you've got the 1440/120Hz option!
