I'm stuck with a defective cartridge worth over $100

Ordered on August 8th. Tried to use it yesterday (09/20) and the 'new' cartridge is defective. Revain doesn't take it back as 30 days have passed and returning to the Daily Deal Zone is not possible. Only once before had I bought a new HP cartridge (and I've probably bought a few hundred over the years) and it turned out bad. Boo Revain and Boo Daily Deal Zone. Buy another one now through Office Depot. At least I know where to get it back if something happens.
