Why would the logo be on the sharpening stone?.I had to take another stone and rub them together to get it flat again to make. If you don't have another stone, you'd better buy something else. Also, the brand name is misleading because it's not made in Japan but in China. I don't like being scammed, so I sent it back and ordered a similar king brand sharpening stone made in Japan. You that there is a big difference in quality. This Chinese stone (called Kota Japan ironic?) is much softer and wears out much quicker than the 6000 grit side feels very natural compared to 6000 grit Japanese stone it feels almost as smooth as ceramic Japanese stone is slightly thinner but heavier (denser) and therefore harder on both sides making it l less likely to wear out. After sharpening the knife on the new Japanese stone I compared it to a knife I had previously sharpened on a Chinese stone and the difference was very obvious. This Chinese stone left a rough knife edge, while the Japanese stone left a smoother, sharper edge with less effort. For the five dollar difference, I highly recommend one of the genuine Japanese made stones you can find here at Revain.
