They're really good for warmth, I've ridden in 40 degrees and had no problems with cold feet. As for the fit, I had two issues: my legs are tight and the waist fits the bottom so I had to pull my pants up from time to time. I'm short and heavy so finding the right size can be difficult. I've ridden them for over 40 miles and because they had a tendency to fall a bit, towards the end the ride became uncomfortable. I will start using them for my short trips and I think they will be fine. Also, it probably doesn't hurt to add a tip to them as it will help solve the fall problem.
