I don't write many reviews let alone positive ones so that should tell you something. As for this product, the straight groove design is a great idea and that's why I chose this product over the typical spiral/tapered/unidirectional grooves that everyone else uses. 1. As mentioned in the description, straight grooves allow loosening and tightening. This is incredibly useful for gently loosening fasteners so as not to damage the bolt or stud in the part. 2. Other designs that "cut" into the clasp can destroy the threaded bolts that go past the nut, especially if they are badly rusted and you have to use the smallest puller. I recently removed the practically destroyed exhaust flange nuts. up to the threads on the bolts. Access was also restricted as the flange had a deep lip around the perimeter preventing use of a vise or splitter, it had to be a socket. They were 14mm nuts, some of which were so bad I had to use an 11mm bolt to loosen them. I figured it would definitely damage the bolts somewhat, but it was enough to grab the slightest amount of metal and turn the nut. Remember they don't cut into the clasp like other designs would ruin my rivets. After that, all I had to do was run a punch over the studs to clean out the thread roots and they were ready to go. Looking at my photos you might think that this can't be true. yes, me too when I disassembled my exhaust. And yes, you can actually see between the strands of some of these nuts that they've come this far. To be honest I used the usual old school tactic of pre-soaking them with a penetrating liquid and using a torch to 'break' the corrosion melting everything together. Anything else would make this task impossible, no matter how good the tool is. You must do your due diligence to address your specific issue/situation. Don't expect any tool to save your ass, use your head and find out. This tool simply helps you succeed, and it was this design that enabled me to do just that. I took off a star because they are made in China. I really should only give two stars because it's made in China, maybe not even stars but I think the design is amazing and I want to commend it. I would happily pay more for them to be made in the USA.
