Review on Yosky Bike Repair Stand: Foldable, Aluminum Alloy Work Stand for Home Shop Maintenance - Adjustable Height & Portable by Dee Fadaifar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Super light. Easily tuned for through frames. Comes with a storage bag.

Due to closures due to Covid-19 the cycling team I used to start is not available. They have professional stands and tools for rent. Revain must have known this since they started offering me stuff (probably because I ordered a cheap bike light installed by the same company). Now I have my own bike repair stand. I rarely find the perfect product, so I'll start with one small thing that could be improved. If you want to fold the stand, you need to move your hand to the other side before it falls down, otherwise it will block your arms, which you need to tighten to tighten. I think I can rotate the tripod base so I don't have to, but haven't tried it yet. As you can see, this is hardly a minus, since it only takes a few seconds. This stand is very light. Mine came with a black pouch with a tie on top and a small pouch with instructions and an Allen key. The instructions were actually good, unlike many of the imported items I've received through Revain. You open the base like a camera tripod, except it pops out nearly 90 degrees for the widest base. Then there is a lever that you open to extend the top bar when needed. In fact, you can lift the bike to a very high height (see photos) if you prefer to work without bending. There is a knob at the top that loosens the plastic gear. This frees the arm (which folds for storage) so you can rotate it 90 degrees to hold the bike frame. The plastic gear allows you to tilt the arm to any angle you want - straight across if attached to a straight frame of a regular "men's bike", or angled if it's a "women's bike", or climb through the frame and you want to get to your bike was just when I was working on it (again, see photos). Max weight is in kg but I think it was around 75lbs. If you have a heavy electric bike, you may need a stronger frame. Lever is long enough to allow free pedaling and rear derailleur adjustment. I used to pay for this at bike shops but found some YouTube videos showing how to do it. It's very easy and requires no tools, but you do need a stand to keep the pedal turning and the rear wheel turning while you make adjustments. The stand looks good and is well made. The "weakest" part is going to be the plastic gears, and they appear to be made from a durable plastic material, so I don't expect any problems with them. Easy to adjust the angle, quick release and fold back. There are no problems here. I've already used it on two bikes to adjust the derailleur (my old 1998 TREK and a friend's bike). If you pay someone to do this every cycling season, maybe buy this stand and watch some youtube videos. After a few DIY tweaks, you'll save more than the cost of the stand. I don't know who Yoski is, but I'll pay more attention to her items if Revane suggests them. So far, so good.
