I cut the foil to fit the frame of a cheap dollar tree. I asked the congregation for non-writing ballpoint pens to use as a pen. The foil sheets are then placed on top of the styrofoam board to work. Decide which side you want to be behind. Have your artist draw a design on the back. This creates a raised line at the front. Turn the product over and add patterns and textures as you wish. Various kitchen utensils or leather stamps can be used to design the front or back. Marker pens are great for adding color. They look spectacular, emphasizing the contours of lines or filling in large areas that have not been textured. Ask the artist to sign the work and arrange it to take home. You COULD provide some basic designs to paint the copper, but kids love to do their own work!
