Honestly Saved My Sunburned Skin

I got a horrible sunburn on my chest despite wearing sunscreen. It was red, hot, and itchy. I was worried about my skin and not looking forward to the peeling and weird tan lines when I read that Cica might help with sunburns. I have used cica on my face before after getting waxed or when it's irritated or broken out, but never thought of using it on a sunburn. Since my aloe gel wasn't cutting it, I figured why not use the ampoule.Immediately I could feel the itching calm down - it was amazing. I applied it generously in the AM and PM on my red burn areas and after 3 days using the serum (and admittedly, 3 days of using a basic aloe gel before that) the burn is gone, I'm not itchy, and best part of all, I didn't have any peeling and my skin is slowly returning to its normal color without turning into a dark tan line. I am a convert - it works and while my skin is still a little darker and red, it's improving with every application. I didn't use it on areas of my arms where I also got a more mild sunburn and those areas are still tender, pink, and itchy, and the areas that have healed have started to get distinct tan lines, so now knowing how well the cica gel worked on my chest, I would have used it on my arms as well to prevent those burn areas from turning into funny tan lines.I really like the gel - it goes on easily, absorbs quickly, it's not sticky, doesn't have a strong fragrance. The bottle is a little tricky - you can't just pump up the gel into the applicator, and if you're using it on a larger area of skin like I was, you'll need more than a few pumps. You have to screw the cap down until the little button at the top pops into the lid and then the dropper will fill up to a full dose and you can use that. I needed to use 3 drops to cover my chest, but one drop was plenty to cover my face.I don't think I'll spend any time in the sun without having this in my kit as a back up. I really feel it has saved my skin from painful peeling and itching.

Pros
  • Feels a little dry on my skin and I have combination skin but works well
Cons
  • It could cause a breakout in people with sensitive skin
