Coincidentally, my convection toaster was on its last breath when I saw what this Ninja Foodi had to offer and decided to give it a try. In fact, everything is in one suitcase: a toaster, an air grill and a convection oven. This is a very deep tool. I didn't really have space on my counter so my Foodi sits on top of my microwave which is more important because it has a recliner function so it can be stored away if I need extra space. First, the Foodi heats up to 450 degrees, allowing you to sear, roast and even brown steaks. In comparison, many fryers only heat up to 400 degrees. Preheats very quickly. You better cook your food because as soon as the bell rings that it's at the right temperature, the timer will start counting down. The oven is incredibly quiet during cooking. You almost don't know it's on. The interior light is bright and the fact that it turns on automatically in the last thirty seconds of cooking is just awesome! I made fish fingers, bruschetta and frozen pizza last night. I put the pizza directly on the grid, like in a traditional oven. I left the time and temperature as stated on the packaging. I increased the temperature a bit for the last three minutes to brown the cheese, but that was the only change needed. Some melted cheese ended up on the drip tray which I was hoping to see how difficult it would be to clean. I wiped it off immediately with a damp paper towel. Not sure if the drip tray is non-stick, but it works as is. The only real downside I found with this oven is the lack of headroom. Even a few inches more height would open up more possibilities. I'm not going to bake chicken, but I can't even put acorn squash halves in this oven and that would limit my use.
