Very good unit. Bought mainly for backup VOR to GPS; Reception range of more than 20 miles in the air with a clear line of sight. The range is much less if the unit is lowered into the cabin, so I bought a 50 ohm coaxial extension cable to place the antenna remotely. Haven't tried comm xmt but reception is very good even beyond 20 miles with good antenna placement.
