This is a nice and really almost essential feature that I didn't know I was missing in my life. I've had a Pioneer Mini Split for about 2 months and this adapter for about a month. He was able to diagnose a leak in the system which was very helpful, sooooo nice to be able to access the app from literally anywhere, turn the system on and off, set the temperature, schedule, outside and inside temp, diagnostics and more more. I went to work and forgot to turn on the system, no problem boom boom on the phone and I know it's doing its job. It's easy to install, connect, connect to the internet, download the app, scan the barcode and away you go. So yes, you need it if you have a Pioneer Mini Split.
