Review on Tandy Leather Strop with Wood Handle πŸͺ’ 3325-00: High-Quality Leather Tool for Sharpening and Polishing by Linda Diaz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Not bad for the price

I needed a small paddle lanyard for my tool set to use with grafting and other garden knives; I lost my homemade belt and didn't feel like making a new one. I think the skin is a bit thin but I don't think it would make much of a difference. The smooth leather side has a few small blemishes on one end that look like small round dents. They don't seem to cause any problems. The wood is a bit thicker than I expected and has no finish; kinda glad about it. I chose to just lightly sand the wood rather than finish it because the handle section has rounded side edges that I can use for dressing hooked knives, as well as flat wood for additional dressing surfaces. I use a very small amount of creamy metal polish with slight diagonal streaks as the compound, and I have to make a plastic wrap so the compound doesn't get on things in my backpack; The plastic it came in will work for now.

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Can't remember
