This lanyard helps me keep Sharp tools sharp

This lanyard works very well. I only use it for fairly sharp knives and tools to keep them that way. I like it better than my hip belt. This belt appears to be of good quality. This allows me to grab the leash instead of pulling it off the chain for a flat. This way I get better sharpness on my various leatherworking tools and fewer accidents. I'm a beginner, but I've already done quite a bit with my tools. This sling has helped me keep things sharp.

Good field sling, buy something better for the home

You can put this in a bag of different grit sandpaper and sharpen the knives in the field, it gives the blade an excellent sharpness! The skin beneath the sandpaper creates a slight camber on the blade that's great for outdoor use! Tandy Leather Works is a great company but as they say there are MUCH better slings out there not very happy because I don't buy them to use in the field I bought them as a sling for my main shop. Great for a sharpener, but if it's not the only sling you own, get a…

Reliable no-frills leather tool belt

Normal leather belt. No frills, but if you just need something to complete your sharpening job, you don't need frills. One side is rougher hide suitable to add a small amount of stripe for the initial sanding (after the stone has been sharpened) and smoother leather on the other side for the final sanding. The flat base allows for a constant angle when you're on. I didn't feel like using a hanging strap. I've used it well with a cheap set of chisels that need constant sharpening and some pocket

Not bad for the price

I needed a small paddle lanyard for my tool set to use with grafting and other garden knives; I lost my homemade belt and didn't feel like making a new one. I think the skin is a bit thin but I don't think it would make much of a difference. The smooth leather side has a few small blemishes on one end that look like small round dents. They don't seem to cause any problems. The wood is a bit thicker than I expected and has no finish; kinda glad about it. I chose to just lightly sand the wood…
