I needed to install a huge patch on the roof of my van that used a lot more tape than I thought it would. It was easy to unroll from the roll; enough paper backing to hold on to while the tape is peeled off. When I didn't get it exactly where I wanted it the first time, I didn't get a second chance without a lump or stretch marks. A windy day made the task difficult. I used caulk to overlap all edges because I didn't trust places where it wouldn't lay flat. This is a good band and I will use it again. I still need to figure out the exact placement.
