Review on Seapora 56097 Overflow Pre Filter by Dan Husband

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect and well built, flows 1000 gallons per hour

It was perfect, no damage or missing parts and assembly was easy. If needed, there are instructions on the back of the box to help you set up and refill 1 1/4" U-tubes. PVC risers are free to set in bulkheads so I suggest you lubricate them with aquarium safe silicone so the riser doesn't come out with it when you pull out the sponge to clean. Another thing I would add is that most people and the box instructions for filling U-tubes do it the hard way. Standard [for those who don't know] Fill the skimmer box and center chamber pre-filter with treated salt or fresh water, then run a standard 3/16" air supply hose through each U-tube to the elbow at the top of the U-tube and leave enough excess outside of the tube to be able to grab it. That. Place one end of the 2 hoses in the skimmer box and the other ends in the center chamber of the pre-filter, being careful not to move the air hoses. This is a common mistake with most people sucking on the air hose to pull air out to fill the U-tubes, but it's a lot easier to drive into the hoses and you'll see water in the skimmer and center pre-filter . The chamber rises and meets in an arc of U-shaped pipes and the pipes fill up and it goes much faster! This is a 1000 GPH pre-filter included in the AQUARIUM MASTERS box.
