Try applying the paint with a makeup sponge
This stencil is great. I use it with a small amount of acrylic paint on a makeup sponge. That way I don't draw too much on the stencil and distort the pattern (by trial and error! lol). I love how this particular pattern looks when just some of the diamonds are drawn. This creates a more casual look, which I like.
