Review on Zipp Course Disc Brake Wheel by Keith Harris

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good wheelset for gravel.

I bought this wheelset from another online bike shop. If you were to regularly spend your hard-earned cash on an expensive hobby like bicycling, you would know who you are. The price listed on Revain, even with outrageous shipping costs, is a really good deal when it comes to genuine Zipp. I first fitted these wheels with a set of 32mm tubeless tires. They rolled and responded as expected. Smooth and strong, no problem here. There are no problems at the front, always at the back. He doesn't hold his breath well. I have to inflate a tire every ride, even if I ride the next day. I really suspected the valve was to blame. When I mounted the tire, I checked for air leaks in a large tub of water. I've been riding these tubeless tires for 6 months. Then the urge to ride gravel got the better of me, so I ordered a set of 40mm tubeless studded tires. Problems with the rear wheel again! The air leak was so bad that the tire lost air for the next hour after inflation. I'm ordering a Stan valve kit to see if it solves this problem. Follow the news. If you don't plan on driving without cameras, there are better options.

Pros
  • Wider rim platform allows for more air volume
Cons
  • Modern
