Collecting old (I mean OLD) knitting patterns. My first knitting book, when I was a kid in my 60's, was a 1948 book called Modern Knitting, which contained ridiculously outdated sweaters and weird hats. (Knit fez. Robin Hood knit hat. Yes indeed.) But everything old is new again. And knitting is experiencing a renaissance. Oh boy, that's good news. That's how this book is. It is very difficult to find regular patterns in children's sizes and useful children's items, as well as men's working knitwear such as mittens, gloves, scarves. I used to use my old vintage book for these pieces a lot in the past because the patterns for the new jerseys just didn't have what I wanted.
