Review on Sunex 6623 20 Ton Hydraulic Floor by Brian Henley

Revainrating 3 out of 5

First impression.: Jack

First impressions are important. I ordered this on my main account, 2 days delivery and all. It arrived two business days later and was sitting on my porch. I have read many reviews of air jacks instead of hydraulic jacks and the Sunex seems like a better buy for the money. So I put the box in my garage and the first thing I noticed was that there was no tape to secure the top and bottom of the box, the lid just slid off. There was a gaping hole at the bottom of the box where the stitching had separated from the base of the jack that had punctured it due to vibration and movement during shipping. I take stock of the contents and everything is there except for the nut and bolt holding the two parts of the handle together. I'm no stranger to damaged shipping boxes, especially when shipping heavier items. The product here is pretty solid/durable so nothing has been damaged. I replaced the missing hardware and mounted the jack. The air fitting is not a standard fitting found in most stores, so I replaced it with the one I use with my tools and compressor. I started my air compressor and increased the pressure to about 120psi. It states that this jack requires 100psi to work best. I looped it through and everything works as it should. I plan to use this to get my 14,000 lb RV airborne to apply the brakes. I'll give this three and a half stars for now and do a follow up after trying this jack. You really need to pack this product in a stronger box for shipping.

Pros
  • Self-advancing jack
Cons
  • added later
