I will never use a wet or dry sponge again
This is the best way to clean soldering tips. Nothing works better. I used the damp sponge that always comes with the iron. But I will never do it again. Never look for water, never try to dry a sponge before packing after a few repairs. Use these instead. The soldering tip gets clean and stays hot. Water always cools my iron. I need a hot iron. Take one and be happy.
