I got this as a gift, and I enjoyed putting it together. It took me longer than it would have since I stopped to paint the pieces. Painting isn't necessary but I thought it would be fun. There were some random extra pieces. Like an extra dragon and extra books. But I can use those for other projects. I would say there were times the instructions were a bit vague, but the pictures helped and I didn't have much of an issue following along.Overall a fun piece.Also the sellers were great. the lights and battery pack that came with it were defective, but they sent me a replacement and I was able to finish no problems.
