The plastic piece with the metal bowl's vibration causes a lot of noise. Much more peaceful if someone can hold it down for you to muffle the sound while making the cotton candy.The unit itself is really easy to clean. We did notice a sugar residue all over our countertop when we were done so maybe next time we'll make it outside.We were brand new to making cotton candy but after a couple tries it became easier and easier to spin. Maybe using a paper cone would be easier than the straws that they provided. Overall this was lots of fun and worked well.
