Most professional installers say that the most important tool for properly installing any hardwood floor is a moisture meter. Rather than guessing if my soil and sub-soil were at the correct moisture level (properly acclimated), this meter provided some information. The acclimatization of floors (as recommended by the manufacturer) depends on the moisture content, not on the length of stay in the house.
