I tried several interface overlays and they all eventually separated. I bought two sets of these because the price can't be beat. The foam is soft and does not stand up to repeated removal of the pad or sandpaper. Glue it once and let it stick. Avoid changing grinding wheels unless absolutely necessary. I have several 5 inch random orbit sanders so I ordered a few and left them attached to my grit series sanders that I use for sanding colored car paint, 1000, 1500, 2000 grit. If you need to remove them with sandpaper or sanding discs , carefully separate the edge of the disc from the pad, and then separate by sliding your fingers between them to separate them. If you grab the edge of the disc and pull with your other hand without pressing down the contact pad, it will definitely shorten the life of the pad. One-step urethane paint is smooth, clean, and orange peel-free, and I reduce the risk of cutting through edges, contours, and body lines. It's a good insurance policy for hobbyist restorers like me.
