The color of this skirt is more brown than tan or yellow. So the skirt is much darker than it looks. I bought it to match a specific shirt and it doesn't fit so I'm sending it back. Otherwise it is a lightweight flannel-like material. Unlined but still warm. I'm 5ft and it comes to the floor but I don't need to hem. So if you're petite, it's like a maxi, and the average size is mid-calf. The waistband has wide elastic so it's very forgiving while still being flattering.
