Review on Corsair HX1200: 1200W Fully Modular Power Supply, 80+ Platinum Certified (Model CP-9020140-NA) by Erik Haynes

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a big and serious Corsair PSU

I've been using Corsair power supplies for 13 years now and have never had a single problem with any of the devices I've built from them (including several devices for family and friends). I have a couple of old x58 I7-980x computers that have been in constant use for ten years and are running on an older AX1200, the same big rebuilt power supply as the HX1200. Like the old AX1200, this HX1200 is mainly built with high quality Japanese capacitors. Not only is this power supply rated 80+ Platinum compared to the older AX1200 with Gold efficiency certification A very significant improvement is the ability to use a toggle switch to convert the massive 12V, 100 amps from a single rail into multiple 40 amp max, Split overcurrent protection, 12V rails. The old AX1200, like this HX1200, is built around a single-wire 12V rail, but the old AX didn't have the option of splitting the rails, allowing a device with a basic electrical fault to produce 1200W/100A via a single cable (low possibility, but nonetheless). The HX1200 finally solves this problem. Given that a power supply is one of the most important components you can buy, it's much better Spending a few bucks more on a quality Corsair PSU if you're building a machine with high-demand components. For over a decade, they've been the best money could buy. built on a single wire 12 volt rail, but the old AX didn't have the ability to split the rails so a device with a basic electrical fault could run up to 1200 watts/100 amps down a single wire (never mind ). possibility though). The HX1200 finally solves this problem. Given that a PSU is one of the most important components you can buy, if you're building a machine with high-demand components, it's far better to spend a few bucks more on a quality Corsair PSU. For more than ten years they are the best, what to buy. built on a single wire 12 volt rail, but the old AX didn't have the option of splitting the rails, so if there was a unit with a basic electrical fault, this could add up to 1200 watts / 100 amps across a single Lead cables (minor). possibility though).
