I bought this as a starter kit to get started with embossing and embossing complemented by some prettier individual powder compacts. To say there is a noticeable difference in quality would be a gross understatement. They take forever to cure, don't cure evenly, become opaque, etc. IF they cure at all. I'm convinced that some of them aren't even really embossing powders, especially the metallic colors. I ended up throwing them away because they didn't work well. Silver, especially, crumbles, cracks and flakes, leaving everything it touches in a hot mess. WHAT YOU SAY. Psh, yo, I'm not trying to spend $5 on a can of yellow embossing powder that I'm going to use twice. I think for the price this set is totally worth having this color palette on hand. I'd definitely recommend this for beginners, but be sure to invest in some nicer custom powders in the colors you'll be using most as well.
