SanDisk has long been a well-known manufacturer of flash memory and related devices. Flash memory cards are now part of almost all electronic devices that store user data. From digital cameras to digital music players (even cell phones), these devices record their data onto flash memory cards. The SanDisk SDDR-89-A15 is one of the products in the "ImageMate" series of memory readers. This is a 12-in-1 reader that integrates seamlessly with your PC. No drivers are required to connect this device to a Windows PC (assuming you are using Windows 2000 or later). This device is USB 2.0 compatible, but backwards compatible with USB 1.1 (albeit at a lower transfer rate). The drive comes with a service CD with drivers in case you want to use the one-click transfer button on top (or on the side if mounted vertically) of the drive. This button lets you transfer, print, email, or view the contents of your flash drive with a simple press of a button. However, most of us don't really need this feature, so installing additional software on the computer is completely unnecessary. The SanDisk SDDR-89-A15 ImageMate 12-in-1 Reader is compatible with the following flash card formats: 1. Compact Flash®2. CompactFlash II3. SD(tm)4. SDGK(tm)5. miniSD(tm)6. miniSDHC(tm)7. Multimedia card (tm) 8. MMSplus(tm)9. MMSmobil(tm)10. RS MMS(tm)11. Dual Voltage RS-MMC (tm) 12. Memory Card (tm) 13. Duo Memory Card (tm)14. Memory card PRO(tm)15. Memory card PRO Duo(tm)16. SmartMedia(tm)17. xD18. xD Type M19. xD Type H Some other card formats, e.g. B. MicroSD cards can be used with this reader, but this requires an adapter. Overall I am very happy with this card reader. By simply plugging into an open USB port on my Windows XP computer, Windows detected new hardware, installed the drivers in Windows and automatically added 4 new drive letters in Windows Explorer. My only complaint is that Windows sometimes seems to lose this card reader after the computer goes to sleep. The drive letters still show up in My Computer and Windows Explorer, but when I insert the card, Windows doesn't see it. I can't blame SanDisk for this issue as I'm pretty sure it has something to do with my PC's operating system or power management. For those of you who still connect your digital cameras to your computer. , use a USB cable, stop wasting batteries in your camera and just buy this great memory card reader. You can then remove the memory card, insert it into the reader and have instant access to all your photos. And the transfer speed between this reader and your computer is much better than the time it takes to transfer data from your camera to your computer. I highly recommend this reader and will be using it for many years to come.
