Because of the wildfires, the air quality outside where I live was pretty bad. So I bought this monitor to see how my indoor air quality is and if my air purifiers are doing their job. Nearby Purple Air monitors are shown on the Purple Air map. (To check PM2.5 readings, you'll need to change the default display on AQI's Purple Air card to raw PM2.5 readings.) Considering this monitor costs about a third of what Purple Air outdoor monitors cost, I think that's pretty good. OK. This monitor certainly doesn't have the Wi-Fi connectivity that Purple Air monitors have, but I'm fine with that. Another potential downside is that you won't be able to use it for continuous air quality monitoring unless it's plugged in, as the battery life is pretty short. But again, I don't consider this a major disadvantage. The only thing it doesn't have, which I would like, is the ability to make selections at certain intervals and keep a history of results (e.g. at night while I sleep). However, I think that you have to pay significantly more for such a feature. All in all I'm very happy with this little monitor.
