Prevents litter from being thrown out of packaging

For the price I paid, maybe less than $10 when I first found it on sale, I'm happy with it. I have a pretty big cat. He's not fat, he's long! The striped Maine Coon weighs about 15 pounds. I got it when it was about 4 months and we only had one tray open. I quickly realized I needed a sealed box with him as he loves to scatter EVERYWHERE. Makes me mad. This litter box fits perfectly under my sink in my closet. Some things that may help before you buy: 1) The lid is loose. My cat has only thrown it up once in the year and a half we've had it. But I see this as a potential problem for other cats. 2) If your cat is older and has trouble moving, this is probably not for her. You have to lift your legs up or jump to get inside. 3) The grate was practically useless to my cat because he jumps over it to get in and out, probably because he's too big to step on. 4) I don't care about the scoop, I had mine before I bought it which works better and has thinner cutouts to catch more. This scoop has fairly large holes that didn't seem to help much if some of my cat's poop got through the hole. 5) My cat likes to urinate in the front corners of her box and these areas can be difficult to clean as it is not a flat surface. But it's not scary. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a box that will be used for shitting, so I think it makes perfect sense. I ended up buying him another one for the garage, but it was a little more expensive the second time around, although not at full price.
