The bubbles produced are louder than the pump itself. Really.
I bought two YDQB4112 to run them in parallel to increase air volume. I used the included double sided suction cups to stick them together and then glued the stack to the tank. Currently with an Eheim 8599 air diffuser, 10 gallon tank. Even with both pumps running and within two feet of each other, the bubbles in the tank are louder than both pumps combined. Literally in the "lift your face to hear" realm. The water filter pump (Aqueon QuietFlow 10) is at least 5 times louder than these pumps. Definitely happy with the purchase, I will buy more. If you hear the sound of the pump more than 30cm away from you, it means the pump is broken.
