Revainrating 1 out of 5

Don't waste your time and money with this product. that's not accurate at all

I bought 4 of these thermometers. NONE was exact. Using two Thermoworks Chef Alarm products (one mine and another I bought as a gift for someone and tested to make sure it worked before packing, both gave the same results btw) as standard. I installed the chef's alarm sensors parallel to each other in the center of the oven and placed the thermometers on the sides of the sensors. I found that 1 out of 4 thermometers showed an error of about 5 degrees, but only above 375 degrees and below 375 degrees 10 to 20 degrees. The other 3 were 25 to 50 degrees apart in all temperature ranges the whole time! I have no idea how the American test kitchen managed to get consistent results with four of them. A total disappointment as I was looking forward to using them as stockings but ended up wasting a whole day trying them out. Also, these thermometers are VERY slow. You have to let them sit for a while before they reach their final temperature state, which will turn off anyway. I am convinced that anyone who has given this product anything other than a 1 star rating does not have an accurate basis for comparison and does not understand that their thermometer is likely off by at least >15 degrees. Americas Test Kitchen really needs to advise against this product. Buy a kitchen alarm clock that is worth every penny. This product is a waste of time and money
