Review on Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II Fixed Lens - Discontinued by Manufacturer by Eunu Cha

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I definitely recommend buying, I didn't notice any disadvantages.

I bought a 450D after 9 months of using the kit. The difference is huge. First of all - aperture, which is important to me, because I often have to shoot in conditions of lack of light (without a flash, for obvious reasons). If there is enough light for you, then by covering the aperture, the clarity of the image increases sharply, along with the depth of field. You should not expect that the lens can replace the whale lens, since this is an 80mm EGF. However, for me he became a staff member. I do not plan to change yet. Unless there is something at a flea market at a ridiculous price. I advise everyone who thinks to buy something instead of a whale, but whom the toad strangles to buy something more expensive than 5 thousand. Get it, you won't regret it. But be prepared for the fact that this lens does not have a "Masterpiece" button.

Pros
  • The price is the main plus of the lens. It's not that bad to break/scratch, to be honest. And it is light, small and very light for the money. The price/quality ratio is very low.
Cons
  • Ugly bokeh: unevenly illuminated pentagons. The lack of a stabilizer, which, however, calms the nerves) The buzzing motor sometimes cannot focus and makes a lot of noise at the same time.
