Practical application

Takes a little time to get used to the closing clasp. You slide the twisted chain's end loop through the frame of the lock, alongside the a plastic small lip/big lip with two different sized holes, which functions as the plate that enables the lock to attach to the chain wire while shrinking the opening in the safe's soft interior (which is webbed with wire too.) One hole is big enough for a hard plastic bubble which is a little wider than the small of the two holes in the closing clasp/lip. Get the bubble through, then redirect the corded wire into the smaller hole (it's just wide enough to let the wire in but not the bubble.) Once pulled through, the bubble locks the wire loop cord in place.Sounds complicated but the system is quite functional. Good if you don't have a trunk or a way to lock one. It's durable and can rest on the floor of the front passenger seat, low profile, mixed with low value items in relative safety from kicking or pressure, or fluids though it's not waterproof you could put a small pelican inside of it for what you want to protect. (You could get a full sized camera with a medium sized lens in here--where it can be kicked, though.) I put the lock key on my car keys. The lock doesn't need the key to lock. Just be careful to not get the keys--for the car or lock--stuck inside the bag, or to leave the key in the car! I use a second set of keys for the valet.Haven't tried to tear it out but the cord could be cut. It's got one black side so it can be laid out at night or in low visibility--the precise places where thieves might be. If you leave your car unlocked, this won't stop them but the wire ring does require them to have the necessary tools, which excludes casual opportunists looking for a quick easy score.I've got a larger bag--wire only--and wonder about how it can be used.Pacsafe has got a real concept with this.
