Review on Vornado VFAN Vintage Circulator Green Heating, Cooling & Air Quality by Dana Young

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Looks cool because it is. (revised 7 months later)

I have no problems with my fan. It's not quiet, but it's stable, so the noise is off. It's hard to tell how big it is in photos, so I'll just tell you. If you had a globe on a stand that spins, and the globe was the size of a volleyball, that's how big the fan would be. It's blowing straight at me from 7 feet away and I can feel a nice light breeze on my face. I didn't have to touch the thermostat. Very nice.++++Okay, so this is a real conversation. After a while I read reviews about the fan making weird noises, but I bought it anyway. I'll show him some sympathy. It fell off a shelf (due to tripping over a cable) and has been running non-stop for a few days over the past 7 months. Make it what you want. The truth stays. Recently this fan has been making strange noises. It woke me up several times last night because it sounded like someone was looking for something in a desk drawer. Eventually I found out it wasn't, but it DEFINITELY started making weird, different noises. It seems he's hesitating, but he's not. From time to time a ringtone sounds. I will say the first again to address another point. It sounds. how. oscillating fan. It's currently on my right, and even though it's in second gear and looking straight at me, it looks like it's moving and changing speed because the sound is crazy. It was a cool fan and it certainly looks good, but damn if the old folks are wrong about new things with money. it's just not built to last. Designed to look cool until you throw it away.
