Review on RCA RP2700 Personal Player EspXtreme by Aaron Cruz

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good player for portable audio and video

Bought two RCA RP2700. Why? Because RCA/Thomson Electronics are the only ones with surround sound capability. It's a simulation, but it's the best you can do without reality. I bought a low wattage computer surround system. I took some speaker stands, hooked everything up to the player and now I have surround sound around the bed thanks to the RCA RP2700. With subwoofer under and in the middle of the bed. Too cool! My last RCA was RP2440. It took 6 years for the motor to burn out. The rest of the features are what I wanted. You can program up to 20 songs on a CD. If you press pause, it will turn off after 5 minutes. Press the play button again and it will return to where you left off. Presets: Vocal, Rock, Surround, Super Bass and Normal. You can play the CD once, shuffle, repeat one song, or repeat continuously. The size, color and LED are perfect for my bedside table. All RCA players are 4.5 volts. So it quickly connected to my system. Sounds good. never jumps when the CD is defective and needs to be replaced. As long as it just stays on my bedside table it should last a long time. Something cheaper is better. I paid $17.99 each and am very happy to get two given the waning availability of surround sound even with RCA. If you're looking for something good at a lower price, the RCA RP2700 is a good buy.

Pros
  • Easy setup
