I bought mine as a rebuild.

I'm absolutely thrilled. I prefer the sound quality over the same album played in mp3. But the latter is of course much more convenient.

Really very poor, good for portable CD players

I think I paid about $25 for mine. I thought the price was so low simply because of the cheapening of the technology. (It's been years since I've had to buy a new one.) This piece was the most frustrating junk I've ever dealt with. The electronics must have sucked because sometimes I would press one button and another would happen (for example I would press pause and the track would repeat, or I would press next and it would die out). Good player for portable audio and video

Bought two RCA RP2700. Why? Because RCA/Thomson Electronics are the only ones with surround sound capability. It's a simulation, but it's the best you can do without reality. I bought a low wattage computer surround system. I took some speaker stands, hooked everything up to the player and now I have surround sound around the bed thanks to the RCA RP2700.
