The front tread adhesive is recessed so that it never touches the car's metal body. Otherwise the sharp edges would have scratched the paint at some point. It is not clear what to do with the frontal protection. I removed the factory rocker protectors and then found that the front rocker protectors must be installed over the Original Equipment rocker protectors. This should be added here or in the box as a note. Installation instructions were not added to the package.
