Review on SML C125 Coarse Washer Head 4 Inch Pack of 500 by Josue Porter

Revainrating 1 out of 5

NO KREG screws. no blind screws. not from seller I have used

The screws advertised are excellent, 5 stars. This one star rating is intended to educate customers about the inappropriate use of screws from other manufacturers. Note that many third party vendors have screws from other manufacturers listed on this page. Revain usually takes the blame for this confusion, but it's hard to blame them when the bag itself says "KREG SML-C125-500" in the description. I ordered from HW Eckhardt Corporation (manufactured by Revain). They're $12, not a bad deal, and back then it was the price direct from Revain (should, yes, should have). The screws I received were Phillips square head screws, 1/32 inch longer than they should have been (measured under the head), had 8 threads instead of 7 like KREG (smaller thread spacing) and the diameter of the head was large too , to fit in a KREG bag. This is the most important thing: The head is too big to fit in the opening of the KREG bag. So no, these are pocket-hole KREG screws. Last time I ordered these from this list directly from Revain and received 500 KREG screws in a stackable plastic box with a KREG logo decal. This time they were in a package with a UPC sticker with a description, no logo. I suspect Kreg screws never come in a package, but I'm not sure. In the attached comparison photos, one of the screws is Kreg and the other is a different brand. Similar. Unfortunately not similar enough. I would accept them as long as they fit in the hole. (Now remember the movie "HAPPY GILMOORE") Be careful what you order and inspect it carefully once you receive it. It would be annoying to be in the middle of a project and find that the new bolt pack you bought doesn't fit the holes you drilled.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Could have chosen a newer model
