I was planning to get a new monitor stand before moving into my first apartment so I could have more desk space. I had to receive this item twice as I sent it back the first time. During the first assembly, the small dowels broke and got stuck in the wood. I couldn't get them out or proceed with assembly. I sent it back and got a new one. The pins on the second were a lot thicker and a lot stronger so I don't know why I had this problem in the first place. I recommend being careful when you get this and keeping an eye on it. Otherwise, assembly was very easy and the stand is quite solid. This is a good basic stand for the price. I'm only taking the rating down because of the first incident.
